Hawaii-Okinawa High School Student Exchange Program

Opportunities abound for the interested and adventurous student. With a little planning, some paperwork and support from parents, students have a number of opportunities to apply for various programs, travel, hosting, contests and more.

The Hawaii Okinawan Center is pleased to announce the Hawaii-Okinawa High School Student Exchange Program applications to host and to travel are now available. Please download the forms by clicking on the links below. This amazing program has endured economic hardship, nature events and even lackluster support by the DOE because it is such a wonder life-changing experience for all the participants.

The are currently looking for host families for the hand-picked students from Okinawa. Please open your hearts, homes and lives to these well-deserving students. You could be a part of history!

Students who host have priority during the selection of students traveling to Okinawa to represent Hawaii. Not only an amazing language experience, the homestay experience, history and cultural lessons and friendships made will last a lifetime!
